Being asked about Saggy Skin!!

saggy

While enjoying a workout at the local gym, I am approached by a gentleman that has recognized me from my book and my success story. After we swapped pleasantries he felt the need to share his fitness goals and asked my  opinion on common tips to obtain them.

Well anyone who knows me well knows that, he received an ear full that day. Sometimes I’m told that I get my cardio in thru my mouth…hee hee.

“May I ask a personal question?” Being my quick wit self, responded “You just did, but you may another.” After a brief chuckle, his countenance changed as he spoke, taking subtle breath and asked.

“Do you have to deal with saggy skin?”

Noticing that this is a big fear of his, so I responded calmly,

“Yes, to a certain degree. However the sagginess can be minimized because the Good Lord has made our bodies incredibly resilient. So if we slowly reach our goal, then our body has time to work it God given elasticity by using proper nutrition, consistent exercise and  of course plenty of water. That is it!”

The deer-caught-in-highlight on his face he asked “No special products shakes or pills?” I quickly responded “only if your doctor tell you to.”

Psalm 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Steward ship.

God has promised a new glorious body to EVERY saved individual that accepted Christ Jesus as their Savior Philippians 3 :20.new-body

Hmmm this bring up a thought to dwell on a moment.

If I get a new body in Heaven, so.. should I be a good steward of the body I have this side of Heaven? After all it’s only temporary, right? God wants me to be happy, and enjoy life with abundance, right?

So Let’s Praise God and pass the pastries?

Let’s look what our Heavenly Father’s word has to say.

Proverbs 23: 1 “Whenever you sit down to dine with a ruler,

carefully think about what is before you. 2 Put a knife to your own throat,

if you have a big appetite.”

Proverbs 23:20-21 “Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags.”

Self-control Spirit fruit that God wants all believers to have. (Galatians 5:22).
